Villefranche sur Mer

Villefranche is a lovely base to see the Cote D’Azur. Its charm is in its quaintness and central location. Well, you can easily be in Nice, Beaulieu, St. Paul de Vence, Monaco (or even Italy where there is a huge outdoor market every Friday only 20 mins. away by train) within a half hour to an hour max on comfortable transportation. Or if you prefer to visit beach at Villefranche but it is not sandy, it’s more a mixture of pebbles and sand.

We also recommend to visit the harbor, the fort, and most of all, take a bus ride over to the Rothschild Villa – not to be missed. The town is small, not a great deal of shopping but a wonderful lovely harbour town to serve as a jumping off point for all the sights along the Cote d’Azur.
