Stone Town

Despite its small size, Zanzibar Island has something to offer every kind of traveler in Africa, something for the history enthusiast and the underwater realm explorer, the spice flavored cuisine and many more. All of these touristy places of interest are alluring interwoven with the casual Swahili ambience. To tourists it may look as if the time stopped here long time ago.

Arrived at Zanzibar and we instantly explored its old metropolis capital center, Stone Town, it was a fascinating mishmash of old buildings with the exquisite Zanzibari architecture of carved doors and lattice windows.

If you are a music lover don’t miss the Dhow Countries Music Academy on Mizingani Road in Stone Town. Every year, Sauti za Busara hosts a music festival annually in February at the Old Fort and Forodhani Gardens.
