St Mary’s Basilica
Arguably, the most famous and most characteristic church in Poland. It is a huge gothic basilica with unmistakable towers in the middle of equally huge Main Square (Rynek Glowny), the biggest of the kind in Europe. Nor surprisingly, for such a unique building it has been renovated to the point that is shines and glimmers. The biggest attraction surely is a priceless medieval triptych over the altar made by a German artist Wit Stwosz. The whole experience is very moving and is also a prove how rich and colorful life must have been in those, supposedly dark, ages.
