I lived in Milano for 6 years and it has much to recommend it. It is more of a European city than the rest of Italy and it is renown for its world class restaurants. It has La Scala , the historic home of opera and of course it has Da Vinci’s Last Supper (Il Cenacolo). It is more organized and efficient that most other place in Italy.

On the other hand, it has less of that THING that I so deeply love Italy, for the beauty and art and sense of being in the past with immortal traditions and customs and culture.
